How to put a PXW controller into Auto Tune? |
This question has been asked by one of our customer and I thought it my be useful to other people:
While in the main screen, press and maintain the SEL button for around 3 seconds. A parameter should appear "Prog" or "roff" on the SV screen. Release the SEL button. Then press it again normally - that will switch between the different parameters. After pressing few times, you should reach "AT" (auto tune settings) which look like more "A7 0" on the screen. "0" being the parameter at which it is set at: 0: off 1: Standard 2: low PV You want to change it to "1" with the arrow key. You will then have "A7 1" displayed. Then, press and maintain the select button until coming back to the main screen. That's it! |

Re: How to put a PXW controller into Auto Tune? |
I agree with Fred, but would add the following:- When the controller enters "Autotune" and returns to the main screen, you will see the right hand decimal point flash. This indicated that the controller will modify the setpoint so that it can measure the response of the whole control loop. If the loop has a large system lag then the "autotune" process can take some time (up to and hour or two). When the controller has sucsessfully measured the system lag in increased and decreased demands it will calculate and set the tuning of the controller. Once complete, the decimal point will switch off and the display return to normal. |
