About Us

Coulton Instrumentation distributes process and field instrumentation worldwide. We maintain a substantial stock of product and our aim is to give our customers a single point of supply, with quick turnaround at competitive prices.

Our product range includes Pressure Transmitters, Chart and Paperless Recorders, Pressure Switches, Temperature Controllers, Orifice Plates...

We are proud to represent Fuji Electric and Ettore Cella in the UK market.

Information and History

Coulton is the main distributor of Fuji Electric France products in the U.K with a current turnover of approx 1.3 million £, (or about 1,6 million €).

To compete in the highly competitive UK market, Coulton uses three main distribution channels: OEM's, re-sellers and end users. This allows us to achieve excellent market penetration for our wide range of products.

By operating inhouse marketing, sales, technical, warehousing and accounts functions, it enables us to remain flexible in the solutions we provide, including easy access to excellent customer support, both during and after sales.

Coulton Instrumentation was registered in April 1985 by Barry Coulton, who retired from the Company in 1999 when Malvern Jones was appointed General Manager.  Barry remained the sole owner of the business until June 2004 and now enjoys an active retirement. Further information can be found at

In June 2001, the Company was restructured to provide Barry with an exit strategy. The sale of the Company to a venture capitalist organisation called Flowmax Group Holdings Ltd was completed in June 2004, retaining all staff and Malvern Jones as Managing Director.

During the period 2004 and 2007 Coulton returned 100% of the capital invested by the Flowmax Group with substantial profits, which were realised in the form of a management buyout by Malvern in January 2007.

Since 2007 the Company has gone from strength to strength, with the focus aimed at growing the business to achieve £2 million turnover, within the next 2 years.

We forecast this growth to come from two areas, firstly a number of exciting new product developments from Fuji Electric and secondly by focused marketing activity to wider promote Fuji Electric as a mainstream brand.

Coulton Instrumentation is certified ISO 9001:2015 - click here to download the certificate.
